Abstract

Background. The article is devoted to the study of the concepts ‘life’ and ‘death’ in I. L. Muravyova’s novel ‘Barishnya’ (2010). Currently, in linguistics, is not studied enough art concepts, methods, language and speech representations of their. The main purpose of the research is to expose the peculiarity of the language representation of the concepts ‘life’ and ‘death’ in I. L. Muravyova’s novel ‘Barishnya’; to determine the mechanism of their interaction in idiostyle of the writer.
Materials and methods. The materials for the research are lexical representations of the concepts ‘life’ and ‘death’ used in rhythmic constructions of I. L. Muravyova’s novel ‘Barishnya’. The main technique of the research is the method of linguistic analysis (main devices are the semantic-stylistic, contextual).
Results. The study of the structure and means of linguistic explication of the literary concepts ‘life’ and ‘death’ objectified in I. L. Muravyova’s novel ‘Barishnya’ enabled to expose the range of lexical units verbalizing the concepts ‘life’ and ‘death’; to describe their content in the novel, marked lexical units specified verbalize sconcepts; considered derivational relations and their morphological structure; defined syntagmatic relations of lexical items “life” and “death” with the surr ounding linguistic units; identified their degree of expr essiveness and frequency of use in rhythmic structures.
Conclusions. The concepts of “life” and “death” in the text of the novel And text. L. Muravyova ‘Barishnya’ greatly expand the semantics, enriched by actively correlating contextual synonyms and antonyms, acquire an occasional value, leading to significant changes in the structural-semantic characteristics of the mentioned concepts and defines their uniqueness associated with the peculiarities of perception of the writer. In I. L. Muravyova’s individual style life is regarded as a more complicated and multidimensional phenomenon than death (spiritually deprived stuff eliminating motion and development).
